The founder and the creator, Reiko Hosenji, was born and raised in Japan. From a young age, she was surrounded by colorful and beautiful fabrics of her family’s kimono business. She was always fascinated and inspired by the colors and the prints of traditional kimonos and their intriguing accessories. This led her to study textile and fashion design in several fashion colleges. After the graduation, she became a fashion designer for a major apparel company. With her rich history of fashion design, she later became the fashion director of a prestigious department store in Tokyo. Her love of fashion and traveling led her to launch Bon Bricolage in 2010. “I love traveling all over the world and love the exciting energies from different cultures!” Her travels are a major source of inspiration. “I want to connect different cultures and create something new, something original.”
As a designer, she also respects other cultures’ craftsmanship. Bon Bricolage’s creations always show heart-warming handmade elements.
She mixes one-of-a-kind antique Japanese kimono fabrics and Indian embroideries with French ornaments…her interesting creations never end.
Nowadays, she is passionately working on designs for Bon Bricolage. She is also a fashion trend analyst and an instructor at a fashion college in Tokyo.
